Buying sex toys can work out to be pretty expensive. Sometimes we just don’t want to spend our money on these toys. We’d rather save money by creating our own homemade sex toys and putting the money towards other things instead.
Sometimes, these homemade sex toys work out for us. They help to save us money and give us a thrill in a way we never expected. Other times, however, things go wrong. Very badly wrong. The best case scenario is that you’ll just be a little embarrassed by what happened. The worst? You end up taking a trip to the emergency room.
If you are thinking of getting a bit crafty with your pleasure, read on. Here’s what happens when homemade sex toys go wrong.
There’s a base for a reason
Most people are intrigued by the idea of anal. For men it is appealing, as this is where the a-spot is located. Slipping a finger into your ass might feel good, but you want to try something else. You might look around your home and see something you think is suitable for inserting into your ass.
However, there are a few issues with this. For a start, these items might not be clean. They could be covered in bacteria which can cause all kinds of unpleasant infections. Another problem? These homemade toys don’t have bases to them.
Butt plugs and anal bases have flared bottoms for a reason. Without them, you risk losing it in your ass. There are so many reports of people going to the emergency room and telling the staff that they “fell” onto an object and it is now stuck up their ass.

Not a bright idea
An example of sticking things up your ass that you shouldn’t comes from Croatia. One young man had what he thought was a bright idea, and removed a lightbulb from its fitting. He then slipped it into his ass for some anal fun. You can probably guess where this is going.
The bulb shattered. We’re not going to go into too much detail, but there was a lot of internal bleeding and he almost bled to death as a result of his injuries. So if you were eyeing up the table lamp wondering “what’s the worst that could happen?” then you’ve got your answer now!

Power tools and dildos
Some people have decided that their dildos and vibrators just aren’t working at the speeds that they want them to. Even if they come with ten different speed options they aren’t powerful enough to satisfy them. They want something stronger.
And so they have been looking for ways to make their existing toys better. Some might choose to swap the batteries or simply give up and buy a new toy. Some, on the other hand, have decided to combine power tools with their favourite dildo for an unforgettable experience.
Often dubbed as “drilldos” they are often attached to drills with the drill bit removed (thank goodness). This means that people can go as fast or slow as they need to in order to satisfy.

We saw it coming
Using a drill with the actual drill bit detached seems like a far better idea than what we are about to detail. A couple in America decided that the drill wasn’t hardcore enough for them. And so they reached for the electric saw instead.
They slipped the dildo onto the saw blade and then went to town. In a twist that everybody saw coming, the blade cut through the dildo and the couple ended up taking a surprise trip to the hospital. Hopefully they’ll save the power tools for DIY.

Homemade sex toys: are they worth it?
You might think that you are being very thrifty by making your own homemade sex toys instead of buying them, but they can go wrong. Even taking a jar and putting sponge inside of it could end badly if you haven’t cleaned the sponge and jar or get a little too enthusiastic with your thrusting.
So we have to ask… are homemade sex toys really worth it? Sure, you might save a little bit of money, but if things go wrong they could go wrong in a huge way. Personally, I’d rather go to my favourite sex shop and buy a product designed for pleasure… instead of making my own and putting myself at risk.
