Sometimes you won’t even need the assistance of lubricants in the bedroom. You might be able to get your partner wet enough to make it all go smoothly. There are other times when you will need a little extra help.

People tend to assume that one lube is as good as the other. This thinking is wrong. There are different lubes for different jobs, so it is essential that you get the right one for your favourite kind of fun.
Oil-based are readily available. Things like Vaseline are popular, as they can be bought cheaply. The problem is that these lubes can actually break down latex condoms, so if you are having safe sex, it might not be so safe anymore.
Silicone-based don’t break down condoms, so they are better to use during sex. They also don’t blend with water, meaning that they are perfect to use in the shower. However this also means that it is more difficult to wash it off. They also don’t work well with silicone sex toys, as they can destroy the material.
Water-based tend to be the most popular and common type. Yes, they wash off easily and can dry quickly, but all it takes is another pump to get going again. Another big plus? They are safe to use with condoms and your favourite sex toys, so your fun won’t be spoiled because your lube doesn’t like your equipment.
You can even get edible lubes in a variety of different flavours, especially for those of you who enjoy kissing your partner all over. It can really enhance oral sex and, if you buy the right ones, can taste really good.

An essential for anal
Using lubricant is an essential if you want to have anal sex. This might seem like a given, but there are still plenty of people out there who believe that the lube on condoms will be enough.
It won’t be. The more lube you have, the easier it is going to be. You might think that you don’t need any, especially if you and your partner have had anal before. But you will.
Not sure if you are going to need it? It is better to think of that saying: “it is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it”. Keeping lubricants to hand is just going to make your sex life better.
